2010, new year, new beginnings.
I’d like to start by saying welcome to my new website! This site is the new 1 stop shop for everything I do. Ransom, Blue Collar Prophet, Graphic design, Dj’ing and of course updates on Authority Zero. Make sure you bookmark the site, and subscribe using the mailing list to your right! Thanks for stopping by!
I’m honestly happy to say that 09 is over…. I’m really looking forward to a new year and a fresh start! I think I’m gonna use this post as just an overall update…
Authority Zero is officially in the studio starting next week. we spent last week with Ryan Greene doing pre-production, i have 2 more days of that this week then its off to do drums! I was talking to a friend last night saying how much i love working with Ryan in the studio cause he pushes my abilities above and beyond and i always end up being a better drummer and learning so many new things even though during the process I’m likely to get really frustrated hahah!! Well either way I’m stoked to get started, I think this record is going to be really great and I’m stoked to show the rest of the world what we’ve put together in the past months.
p.s. If anyone reading this doesn’t know who Ryan is here is a link ..::Ryan Greene::..
On an AZ side note we are playing a Rhythm and Booze show at Dirty Pretty in Scottsdale on the 14th of this month so don’t forget to come check it out!!
Blue Collar Prophet stuff is still coming along good but my focus hasn’t been so much on that as much as it’s been on a project I have with my boy Keith called Translator. Some of you may know this project or heard me talk a bit about it but I’m sure most haven’t. This I can honestly say is the only thing that is I’m super proud of coming from 2009…. I won’t go into detail about it right now but keep your eyes peeled for Translator. I promise you’re gonna love it!
Designing has been slow through the holiday’s but I’m hoping it will pick up now that the new year has started. I’m working on a few logos and such for a some bands right now but other than that i don’t have much on my plate so I’ve just been painting a bit more. If anyone needs any graphic work done feel free to contact me and get a quote!
I’m working on a new painting right now that I’m super stoked on. I’ve posted a couple photos on twitter and facebook of the progress of it if you would like to see.
Ransom is getting some new designs right now that will be posted up for vote when they are done. My idea is to go exclusive with it. I want to start letting everyone vote for there favorite design and then only make 36 or so shirts to be sold. Keep watch right here for more updates on that or follow me on twitter for more minute to minute updates.
Well I think that’s it for the first post of 2010. Again I’m happy to say that 09 is over and I’m really looking forward to all the opportunities of 2010! Cheers, JIM
Updates…
So its now 12 a.m. and i think my eyes are going to pop out of my head cause I’ve been staring at this damn screen ALL DAY! I took a few breaks here and there for a smoke or some food but all in all its been one thing to another.
My day started with Sister Cities (a local AZ band). These guys higher-ed me to do the poster/flyer for there CD release party coming up on September 11th. I had allot of fun with this today cause it was a bit out of my relm as far as style is concerned and i got to really play with fun colors instead of the normal “Do it like black, red, and white” haha. NOT that i don’t like those colors cause trust me i do but there are only SO MANY versions of that combination i think i can come up with these days ha! So far the flyer/poster has turned out super sick and i’m just waiting on approval from the band and then i’ll post it. Keep your eyes peeled!
From there I led into a recording session with my boy Keith. We are tracking a new song that i wrote and he helped me finish last week. I’m stoked on this song and so far it’s really sounding nice. Its a ballad style acoustic song for someone special
Maybe someday i’ll post the few i’m writing/recording as a bonus for all of you who follow me (all 10 of you hahah!)
After that I proceeded to make dinner and then it was back to the grind stone updating my portfolio! Although i’m not completely done I’ve finally got a proper gallery up with nice thumbnails and such so make sure you check out my design page and see what I’ve been up to lately! There are quite a few new things up now and there are more to come here shortly.
Well i think that’s about it for today. Tomorrow its back to working on the few projects i have at the moment. OH REMEMBER! If you know anyone that needs graphic design work please send em my way I’m always looking for new clients!
Thanks for the continued support!!!

Adam’s first post…Awwwwww
I have no idea why I’m addicted to how easy it is to turn Asian phrases into something else these days. Reminds me of my buddy Mike Giant…he has this artistic trend that he was starting where he would take the first syllable of two words and switch them so that they would form a totally different meaninig (ie…Pop corn, Cop Porn – Tiny Shits, Shiny Tits), you get the idea.
Anyway, so I’m surfing the web in my little cubicle here in Snottsdale, AZ and come across this gem of a website. http://www.engrish.com Now I’m not always one for guarantees, (to quote the late Chris Farley “if you want me to take a dump in a box and call it guaranteed I can - I got the time.”) That said, this website is absolutely guaranteed to not only bring a tear to your eye but will also demonstrate the massive cultural differences between the US and our Eastern friends (aka. Asians).
Have you ever walked into a McDonald’s and ordered a giant fried Scorpion? Yeah, me neither. If I saw some of the things that these people are eating scurry on the sidewalk I would jump out of my pants, scream like a little girl and then probably shit myself. I gotta give them Asians credit. They’ve got Cojones!!!! They don’t scream at all. They look at these creatures and think, “Mmmm, that would go great with Soy sauce and a side of Wasabi”.
Oh…and, they really need to teach their chickens some manners (see below)

Filled with sun!
This post is mainly just a photo… I just wanted to show everyone this 9′+ sunflower…. counted over 50 buds on it… pretty rad!

I love my dog that's for sure
This is Diego… He’s an American Bull Terrier / Great Dane mix. I adopted him at around 4 months old from a kennel i found through petfinder.com and he’s been the raddest dog EVER! hahah. I just wanted to post this photo cause i found it funny. Laying on his “bed” a pile of old sheets and a comforter with a couple pillows on the bottom…. ENJOY!
